Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will develop software solutions for automating industrial process control systems and support the entire development process. You will report to the R&D Team Lead for the automation system at the Minden (North Rhine-Westphalia) location and make a key contribution to the successful implementation of distributed control systems for our customers. The work model for the role is: hybrid #L-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Developing efficient software solutions while considering product requirements, high-quality designs, as well as quality and safety standards for industrial process automation.
2. Supporting the entire software development process - from analyzing customer requirements to implementation, testing, validation, and maintaining and enhancing existing systems, including embedded systems.
3. Solving complex industrial challenges and selecting appropriate technologies, devices, and methods for new software solutions.
4. Optimizing technologies and methods by updating tools, implementing new technologies, and driving process improvement initiatives.
5. Providing technical support for projects and collaborating with colleagues.

Qualifications for the role

• A completed university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.
• At least 3 years of experience in software development, ideally as an R&D engineer in industrial automation.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and C#, as well as in developing and enhancing Windows desktop applications using MFC, ATL, and COM.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Ethernet-based communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Modbus TCP) and hardware-related software architecture and operating systems is a plus.
