Senior Projekt Manager / Senior Engineering Delivery Manager for Embedded Device Development (f/m/d)

Location: Ditzingen

In Ditzingen, you will encounter security solutions for monitoring and safeguarding borders and border controls, protection of civil and military facilities and tactical communication. This is the right place for you if you want to join us in developing and producing tactical radio equipment for networked operations guidance during military missions. Join the Thales expert team for cybersecurity and cryptography, for encryption components and hardware security modules and electronic key management systems. We are happy to have you on board!

Your mission

• Lead a technical development team laterally within important projects and throughout the bid process
• Plan and coordinate engineering activities from system design to integration and customer acceptance
• Define the development strategy, processes, practices, and tools (PP&T) applicable to each system
• Establish, collect, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track development progress and manage risks
• Collaborate with project managers, IVVQ managers, and Engineering Work Package Managers
• Define and plan engineering work packages for bids and projects with regard to quality, cost, and time
• Identify, evaluate, and manage opportunities and risks
• Report to project managers and maintain an engineering project dashboard
• Collaborate with and possibly manage subcontractors
• Contribute to personnel resource planning and deployment
• Derive Lessons Learned and propose improvements to operational organization

We are looking forward to

• Demonstrated experience in technical project management or work package management within hardware and software development projects, showcasing your ability to lead and deliver complex, high-stakes initiatives effectively
• Hands-on experience in the development or management of embedded devices/cryptosystems is highly desirable, highlighting your expertise in secure communication technologies
• Proven track record of working on certification projects and navigating related processes, such as those aligned with Common Criteria standards or within the defense industry, underlining your capability to ensure compliance and quality assurance
• Extensive experience in collaborating with international teams, demonstrating your ability to work seamlessly across cultures and geographies to achieve common goals
• Exceptional communication skills, coupled with an aptitude for networked thinking and demonstrated resilience, ensuring you can effectively convey complex ideas and maintain composure under pressure
