Senior Process Technician - Paint Shop (m/f/d) - Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg

Responsibilities

1. As a Senior Process Technician in our Paintshop, you will support the Process Engineering team, focusing on process efficiency projects, working independently or as part of a core team to develop and optimize our Paint manufacturing processes, create new process standards, design efficient workflows and carry out technical implementations while sharing your expertise with the team.
2. You will manage projects independently or as part of a core team to optimize the Process Engineering workflows, implement new standards, manage equipment changes and support the new product integration while ensuring efficient workflows for production employees including safe and ergonomic workplaces.
3. As an expert in your area, you will be responsible for identifying opportunity areas, running process analytical reports and taking lead in troubleshooting complex Process-related disruptions, implementing efficient and sustainable countermeasures/process optimizations while following up on the effectiveness of preventive control actions.
4. You will support the development of standard workflows together with the Process Engineers, running optimizations trials from the start of commissioning until launch phase.
5. You create purchase orders and cost savings, manage new paint equipment testing, new process and materials introduction communicating between different suppliers.
6. You will develop process efficiency dashboards and implement lean manufacturing standards in the workplace for current and new process workflows while organizing and leading training sessions for colleagues.
7. You will lead and support Process Engineering tasks, keeping a constant efficient communication between Suppliers, Manufacturing, SIE and SQE to standardize and stabilize abnormalities within the Process Engineering workflows.
8. Continuous improvement and sustainability is in your blood and you will contribute with new ideas to bring our Process workflows to the next level of quality together with a cost and energy savings efficiency mindset.
9. With your strong experience working within the Paintshop, you will support the Process Engineers to optimize the current paint systems, equipment, tooling and workflows.
10. You will be independently and proactively organized in your daily workflow in cooperation with your team to achieve every milestone and increase morale and commitment.

Requirements

1. Safety mindset; for you and your team safety is always the top priority.
2. Complete apprenticeship as an automotive painter or mechatronics technician with professional experience in the OEM industry - at least 5 years.
3. Strong experience of OEM Automotive Paint Processes, DURR paint equipment, process parameters fine tuning, process optimization and troubleshooting.
4. Strong knowledge for Paint Process, Automation and Quality related analysis software.
5. Strong knowledge on Quality Core Tools, Lean and Six Sigma.
6. Educational degree to understand paint specific terminology is highly recommended.
7. German and English speaking/writing proficiency is necessary.
8. Good Microsoft Office skills, i.e. creating dynamic reports, dashboards, etc.
9. Capacity to adapt in a constantly changing environment with new technologies while driving innovative improvements.
10. Proactiveness and willingness to work on different shifts and weekends, including domestic and international travel on business trips.
