As a Senior Preconstruction Manager you will be part of the Design and Construction team (D&C) within AMZ Global Engineering services (GESS), with the long-term vision of shaping the future of the Construction Industry. Within D&C we push the boundaries of possibility, driving innovative, standardized and scalable solutions to deliver high quality buildings and capacity to meet customer needs. Key job responsibilities
• Independently manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design completion, permitting and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and project stakeholders.
• Keep the scope under control and accelerate progress by driving timely decisions, identifying and clearing blockers, and escalating appropriately.
• Work with internal/external stakeholders to drive results through effective communication and decision-making.
• Oversee professional service providers ensuring their skills and competencies meet project needs.
• Perform pricing reviews for scope inclusions/exclusions and negotiate costs with developers, general contractors, and design consultants.
• Estimate costs, manage due diligence, schedule tracking, and forecasting.
• Supervise the implementation and management of Amazon's safety programs and standards.
• Insist on the highest standards from self and others and drive accountability for results.
• Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

A day in the life
Represent AMZ and D&C GESS in ensuring on-time and in-budget execution of Amazon construction projects, while improving processes, costs, quality, health & safety, and sustainability performance. Lead and mentor large cross-functional teams as an expert technical and project management resource. Drive significant communication across departments, serving as an authority on project issues. Understand and negotiate terms of contracts with developers, contractors, and consultants. Daily tasks may include site validation, due diligence, risk analysis, design management, contract negotiations, and stakeholder management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A completed Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or comparable field with solid experience in relevant roles.
- Demonstrable project management experience from design phase through implementation and operation.
- Experience within packaging processing/logistical facilities or comparable experience.
- Fluent in English and German; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently through Europe, up to 30% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field.
- Experience operating within at least two disciplines in the construction industry.
- Capability in planning, design review, and project management/control of new structures and enhancements.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary design incorporating industrial automation or similar.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
- Success in communicating to various audiences.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- Participation in previous new FC Launch at Amazon is desired.
- Knowledge of additional languages like French, Polish, Arabic, and Turkish is preferred.
