Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Optical Engineer with deep expertise in microscopy imaging technology and extensive process experience. The ideal candidate will be familiar with precision opto-mechanical structures and capable of designing and building cutting-edge microscope systems. You will be responsible for simulating and validating imaging principles, working closely with the R&D team to guide the full product lifecycle from prototype to commercial production. Your work will address various challenges in system development, enhance product stability, and ensure our technology remains industry-leading.
Key Responsibilities
- Imaging System R&D:
- Design, develop, prototype, and integrate optical imaging or vision systems.
- Document and analyze the underlying technical principles throughout the development process.
- System Simulation and Validation:
- Perform theoretical calculations, simulation design, and optimization for optical systems.
- Build validation setups to quantitatively evaluate imaging performance, including aberration and error analysis.
- Imaging Quality Optimization:
- Address and resolve technical challenges and potential issues arising during optical system design and process development.
- Continuously drive improvements to ensure high-quality product delivery.
- Component Selection and Testing:
- Select appropriate optical components in collaboration with structural engineers.
- Contribute to the design of the opto-mechanical structures, develop product processes, and refine assembly procedures.
- Industry Trend Analysis:
- Monitor and study the latest advancements in imaging technologies.
- Validate the principles of emerging microscopy and vision imaging techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Master’s degree or higher in Optical Design, Optical Engineering, Precision Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in the design and integration of complete imaging systems at an internationally renowned microscopy company.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in optical debugging techniques and opto-mechanical structure design.
- Skilled in using design software such as Zemax and SolidWorks.
- Familiar with super-resolution microscopy principles, including confocal, spinning disk, SIM, STED, and SMLM.
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong sense of responsibility, clear logical thinking, excellent planning and coordination skills, and effective communication abilities.
- Ability to travel extensively when required.
