Senior Logistic Technician

Overview

As a Microsoft Senior Logistics Technician you will prioritize and assign ticketed work to technicians on the team, provide guidance on inbound and outbound logistics tasks and ensure that inventory balances are accurate. This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your expertise in standard processes and procedures for Inventory & Asset Management and develop skills around mentorship of peer technicians accelerating your career growth in the process.

As a the Senior Logistics Technician you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities

1. Prioritize ticketing queues, work to resolve escalations, and clear blocking issues to enable continued delivery of Inventory and Asset Management activities.
2. Provide task specific guidance to a team of technicians responsible for preparing and executing incoming and outgoing deliveries and documenting inbound/outbound packages.
3. Coordinate with external stakeholders including third-party warehouses, Original Equipment Manufacturer, vendors, and suppliers as necessary to facilitate inbound and outbound deliveries.
4. Leverage process knowledge and technical skills to resolve escalations (or further escalate if needed), clear blocking issues, and may enable on site and/or remote data center support activities.
5. Act as the Subject Matter Expert about the Return Merchandise Authorization warranty process ensuring teams process failed vendor hardware devices using tools and processes.
6. Attend, conduct, or assist in conducting daily safety briefings, completes required safety training, provides guidance to technicians to facilitate compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

1. High School Diploma and a working knowledge of warehouse or supply chain in an information technology environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field.

Background Check Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

1. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

1. A working knowledge in warehouse or supply chain in an information technology environment, IT, or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts) for a large corporation.
