This role will be based in Dortmund at their HQ:

In this role as Marketing & Communications leader, you will be responsible for developing and driving awareness in both digital and offline presence for the retail operations for all communication and launches to deepen customer relationships and consumer awareness, drive awareness and adoption.

Your vision will empower the team and drive marketing strategies and go-to-market programs. You will maximize social engagement across all channels and platforms and focus on revenue generation, growth, and ROI incentives. You will be a key driver on CSR, internal and external responsibility, aligning the workforce and peers for the vision for the future.

A true marketeer, you will have large social impact exposure across international markets, not just Germany.

You will design, create, align, and execute end-to-end marketing initiatives that drive innovative and advanced launches along with targeted campaigns in various markets/channels/segments/target users, including driving customer events and internal and external communications for the group.

Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, implement, and drive the delivery of the marketing strategy/plan for new and existing businesses, new launches of products, store locations, and new initiatives for the group.
  2. Work with senior leadership teams to develop an impactful account-based marketing plan for key accounts, new customers, and consumers, both traditional and digital.
  3. Develop and define the CSR framework and platform for the group.
  4. Define the change management plan with a clear vision and achievable ROI.
  5. Champion highly collaborative alignments with Strategy, Partnerships, Sales, and Operations.
  6. Develop key performance metrics for all marketing investments.
  7. Develop corporate communications for the group and its subsector businesses.
  8. Provide expert marketing advice as an inspirational leader across the business.
  9. Work with shareholders and marketing and communication teams to develop marketing/communication programs to increase brand awareness in countries via media mentions, PR, and retail-specific industry sectors.

The new marketing leader will have a fundamental understanding of the growth stages of a recognized retail brand and will drive a fast-paced retail business to ensure smooth and profitable operations. You will be a hands-on leader with a track record of delivering growth and revenues while maintaining focus on brand, products, pricing, and identity.

The critical factor is a dynamic commercial marketing leader who can maximize growth, revenues, social responsibility, followings, and ROI.

A leader with a solid understanding of Retail/FMCG and seasonal trends, an innovator with a passion for brands and knowledge of the German retail landscape.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Marketing leader, in partnership with the CEO, is responsible for the success of the group's online, digital, marketing, communications, and CSR efforts, assuring relevance to the community and the accomplishment of the Organization’s mission and vision.

This role will manage an existing successful portfolio of brands and products and maximize business growth, marketing, sales, and retail. We are looking for innovators and hands-on leaders who can implement change, drive growth, and build and develop winning teams.

Management and Administration

  1. Provide general oversight of all activities, manage day-to-day operations, and assure smooth functioning and efficient organization.
  2. Train, grow, and develop leadership teams.
  3. Assure program quality and organizational stability through the development and implementation of standards, controls, systems, procedures, and regular evaluation.
  4. Ensure a work environment that recruits, retains, and supports quality staff.
  5. Specify accountabilities for management personnel and evaluate performance regularly.

Mission, Policy and Planning

  1. Help the CEO determine values, mission, vision, and goals for the remit/region.
  2. Monitor and evaluate relevancy to the community, effectiveness, and results.
  3. Keep the CEO informed on the condition of the group and important influencing factors.
  4. Identify problems and opportunities, facilitating discussion and deliberation.
  5. Inform the CEO about trends, issues, and activities to aid policymaking.

Legal Compliance

Assure the filing of all legal and regulatory documents and monitor compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Community Relations

  1. Facilitate the integration of the group into the community through effective marketing and communications activities.
  2. Act as an advocate for issues relevant to the group and its services.
  3. Listen to clients/customers/suppliers and the community to improve services and generate involvement.
  4. Serve as chief spokesperson for the group, assuring proper representation.
  5. Initiate, develop, and maintain cooperative relationships with key areas and regulatory agencies.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree.

10+ years at Senior Marketing Executive Director level.

Experience within German cultures and workplaces.

A proven leader who has led large format multi-merchandising stores.

A record of delivering growth year on year and taking new brands and products to market.

A digital marketing leader with a history of delivering growth YOY.

A track record within major big box multi-format retailers across Europe or a major FMCG giant.

A marketing leader who understands the German marketplace, Austria, and DACH regions.
