With this mandate, we are supporting our client from the Franconian region in filling a Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d) position in Erlangen (60% remote).

Background of the assignment:

The Senior Data Scientist uses his expertise and technical skills - in mathematics, computer science and business knowledge - to describe phenomena based on data and modeling, and help the procurement organization make data-driven decisions.

He acquires the basic business data knowledge during his onboarding period and continuously extends and updates them with additional project experience in his career at procurement.

Tasks:

• Describe phenomena based on data and modeling
• Help the procurement organization make data-driven decisions
• ETL processes and data pipelines
• Build data views (“tabular data model”) and write scripts
• Efficient explanatory data analysis using advanced techniques
• Providing actionable insights using data visualization tools and/or process automation solutions
• Deliver and maintain accurate data models (“mathematical data model”) using regression techniques, machine learning, optimization and stochastics, mainly for classification and prediction
• Develop algorithms at the right level of quality and complexity to solve business problems
• Develop solutions based on generative AI techniques and large language models.

Skills:

• Master in Data Science or Master in Mathematics
• Expertise and technical skills - in mathematics, computer science and business knowledge
• Experience in information technologies (e.g. SQL, web scraping, etc.)
• Skills in cloud database technologies (e.g. Snowflake, star schema, relational databases, etc.)
• Expertise on outlier detection algorithms, imputation methods, statistical correlations, dimension reduction techniques like PCA, etc.
• Data visualization with Power BI, Qlik, plotly, seaborn, etc.
• Process automation solutions with Service Now, Mendix, Power App, etc.

Language:

• English min. C1
• German would be a plus
