Senior Buyer - Construction

Sanderson is excited to partner with a leading global construction company to recruit a Senior Buyer for Construction Materials. This role is based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Responsibilities:

1. Select suppliers that meet quality, compliance, and cost requirements
2. Build and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring contract adherence and regular reviews
3. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and manage supply continuity risks
4. Monitor economic and geopolitical factors affecting construction materials
5. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GMP)
6. Conduct analyses to identify value creation opportunities (e.g., sourcing, process improvements)
7. Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), ensuring suppliers meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
8. Lead quarterly supplier reviews and create supplier profiles
9. Implement procurement strategies, including agreements and rebates
10. Drive sustainability initiatives
11. Oversee ERP-based procurement and material management systems
12. Provide leadership and direction to the team
13. Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

1. Background in strategic procurement within the construction industry
2. 8+ years of experience in a similar role
3. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Experience in Category Management
6. Process and procedure-driven
7. Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
8. Third-level qualification in supply chain or related discipline an advantage
9. The ability to travel as required
