Senior Backend Engineer at Emotional Intelligence Co

We are looking for a passionate Senior Backend Engineer to work for our Europe based client. For this role we only process candidates that are based in the Philippines and have legal authorization to work in the Philippines.

About the OTA client

Your Role

• Build scalable systems: Help us develop and scale our architecture and tech stack to support millions of monthly active users (MAUs).
• Drive product innovation: Collaborate with the product team (content design growth) to define, develop, and deliver impactful features.
• Contribute across platforms: Support the continued success of our award-winning mobile app and expand its reach to hundreds of millions of users.
• Be a core team member: As the third full-time engineer on the team, you'll work alongside a rockstar UI/UX team and world-class technology advisors to build something extraordinary.

About You

Experienced in backend development:

• 8 years working with TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, and NestJS.
• Proficient in building APIs, integrating third-party libraries, and implementing GraphQL (bonus).
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Services (GCP), Firebase, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Kotlin or Swift and delivering mobile features like push notifications.
• Experience with generative AI integration.
• Experience with ML model integration and testing.
• You've worked on consumer-facing apps, ideally with subscription-based models.
• You understand the balance between shipping quickly and maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
• Experience with Headless CMS, localization, and subscription platforms (e.g., RevenueCat) is a bonus.
• You're excited about being involved in the early-stage building process from understanding customer needs to shaping technical decisions.
• You thrive in cross-functional environments and aren't afraid to express your opinion.
