Summary / Role Purpose

As Ansys Senior Application Engineer (m/f/d), you will work with a variety of customers in your application area electromagnetics simulation techniques and give recommendations for improving your customers' product development. You will find solutions to their application engineering challenges, utilizing Ansys software and best practices in their design processes.

As a hands-on application expert for Ansys solutions in your application area electromagnetics simulation techniques, you will provide technical sales support, deliver professional services, ensure customer productivity through training and methodology support, and help translate customer requirements into new product features.

You will work in multidisciplinary teams to contribute to end-to-end simulation solutions, expand your application domain and industry knowledge, and support the growth of the Ansys business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads the coordination and execution of all technical activities throughout the lifecycle of a sales opportunity, e.g. technical discovery, negotiation of technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations.
• As a credible hands-on expert in the customer's application, you will work with customers to better understand their product development requirements and what they need to improve their performance metrics.
• Support the development of differentiating simulation solutions using the Ansys platform and our products; implement our Ansys solutions into your customers' design workflows.
• Collaborate with the Ansys Product Development to translate customer requirements into new product features.
• Support the Ansys Field and Digital Marketing team by developing promotional materials and supporting events.
• Contribute to and lead professional service deliveries and conduct training classes.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0.
• Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
• Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time.
• A solid understanding of the basic principles of electromagnetic fields and RF circuit design.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in electrical engineering with emphasis on RF, electromagnetic fields, radar, wireless systems or Signal and Power Integrity and EMI/EMC.
• 2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, or another high-level programming language applied to solving problems in mathematics, engineering or physics.
