Scientist (m/w/d)_Biochemistry

Open Sesame Therapeutics GmbH is a dynamic biotech start-up based in Dresden, focused on developing delivery systems for macromolecule therapeutics. Currently operating in stealth mode to protect its innovations in this early phase, the company was founded by Prof. Marino Zerial and Dr. Ivan Baines as a spin-off from the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG). By leveraging its expertise in endocytosis and endosomal transport, Open Sesame Therapeutics (OST) aims to discover novel receptors and ligands for precise targeting of specific cells or tissues, while pioneering new strategies to improve endosomal escape of macromolecule therapeutics.

Open Sesame Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Lipid Biochemistry Specialist (Scientist/Senior Scientist) with a focus on the characterization and formulation of nanovesicles. The role involves leading and contributing to projects aimed at optimizing lipid-based nanovesicles for therapeutic delivery. We are looking for an individual with strong expertise in lipid biochemistry and formulation, capable of taking on leadership roles in a team-oriented environment. Required Qualifications

• A doctoral degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or a related field
• Experience in lipid biochemistry, including the characterization and formulation of lipid nanoparticles and/or extracellular vesicles.
• At least one first-author publication
• Proficiency in English, with excellent communication and data presentation skills

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in nanotechnology, synthetic biology and macromolecule delivery systems
• Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary research team
