We are looking for a Risk Manager (m/f/d) based in Munich.

The Impact You Will Have

In this role, you will be responsible globally for managing and coordinating qualitative risk management activities in the area of digital operational resilience. This includes overseeing that material risks are adequately managed, leading risk identification workshops, ensuring that actions required to mitigate risks are defined and prioritized by respective risk owners, reporting to senior management on risk profile. You will report to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

1. Ensure that an effective risk management framework is in place for the area of digital operational resilience.
2. Oversee that risks are managed by the 1st Line of Defense in line with risk strategy.
3. Presentation and discussion of significant risks with top management.
4. Interact with senior management of the business (i.e. 1st line of defense) on risk management topics (including definition of risk mitigation measures).
5. Risk governance, including implementation and maintenance of policies and standards.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, or any other analytical discipline (e.g., Risk Management, Actuarial Sciences, Finance).

3-5 years of work experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance or banking.

Hands-on experience in qualitative risk management/ risk controlling/ risk reporting.

Knowledge in relevant regulations (e.g. DORA, VAIT, EU AI Act).

Expertise in IT Governance.

Ability to work on details while always keeping the big picture in sight.

Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs. management view) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting.

Expertise in qualitative risk management techniques, including risk identification, assessment, analysis, and control, with the ability to apply these techniques appropriately.

Proficient IT skills in MS Office including VBA and relevant expert systems.

Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complexity.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence stakeholders resulting in positive outcomes.

Ability to work effectively in an international and dynamic environment, demonstrating excellent intercultural skills.

Fluency in English is required.
