Who we are looking for

With immediate effect we are looking for a Germany-based Risk Governance Analyst, Officer. The role is assigned within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization of State Street Bank International (SSBI), the EU banking subsidiary of State Street Corporation.

This role will involve a variety of tasks, often highly demanding. Key attributes will include strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate with stakeholders from global teams, and the capability to work in a dynamic and complex environment.

Banking is a risk-taking business. The goal of ERM is to ensure that State Street’s risks are proactively identified, well-understood, and prudently managed in support of our business strategy. As such, ERM provides risk oversight, support, and coordination to ensure consistent identification, measurement and management of all risks possible in providing products and services to our clients.

What you will be responsible for

Major responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct quarterly review and updates of the SSBI’s Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), incl. required documentation, ensuring alignment with the business strategy
  2. Lead the annual Bank-wide Risk Identification process, in alignment with global procedures, and assess emerging risks
  3. Coordinate risk interdependencies across various risk dimensions
  4. Collaborate with risk dimension owners to update the Bank Risk Strategy and Stress Testing Program
  5. Act as a coordinator / project manager for risk-overarching processes, including the annual disclosure and other external reports, external audits, MaRisk updates, regulatory compliance requirements as well as ad-hoc requests from the CRO
  6. Lead the Risk Governance workstream in key project, including data governance project as well as climate-related and environmental risk implementation project
  7. Maintain the Risk Governance documentation, including policies, procedures, and technical documents
  8. Maintain SLAs and provide oversight on outsourced activities
  9. Ensure effective internal controls and adherence to risk policies
  10. Lead the collection and synthesis of data inputs from the various risk functions for monthly executive management reporting (MIS)
  11. Prepare and review materials for the Executive Management and the Supervisory Board Committees
  12. Coordinate and moderate monthly senior risk management committees of the Bank
  13. Coordinate the update to BCP procedures for the Risk Management department
  14. Coordinate activities and update the inventories for quantification models and critical tools, maintaining consistency across the risk functions

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  1. Successfully completed Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or Risk Management related field
  2. Minimum of 3+ years experience in a financial institution, ideally in a risk controlling or risk management function
  3. A high degree of professionalism with proven history of providing effective leadership to diverse teams.
  4. The ability to manage complexity, effectively prioritize multiple tasks and work independently in non-routine situations and in a fast-paced environment.
