Offer Description

In a hybrid or all-electric aircraft, power electronics is a key component. For example, the power electronics is needed to adapt the voltage level of the sources to the electrical on-board power supply, generate other on-board voltage levels, or generate the rotating field for electrical machines. Very high gravimetric power densities are necessary to substitute conventional components. The heat dissipation of power electronic components represents a challenge, which is strongly coupled with the reliability of the power electronics.

The intern’s area of responsibility includes, but is not limited to:

1. Test bench set-ups and automation
2. Knowledge, test and measurement documentation
3. Programming
4. Programming and configuration of Embedded Systems (Control Units, Embedded AI, ...)
5. Support in the development of a Predictive Maintenance approach for power electronics

Programming knowledge in at least one of the following programming languages is required:

• MATLAB
• Python
• C/C++
• Labview

Additional Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Power Electronics demonstrable by passing examinations
• Interest in topics such as Measurement Technology, Machine Learning, Automation, and Embedded Systems
• High degree of structured, independent work

Additional Information

The SE²A Cluster’s International Female Programme supports paid research internships for female graduates from universities outside Germany to conduct limited (6 month) research projects at the TU Braunschweig on Cluster-relevant topics. During these internships, we also offer German language classes that will be paid by the institutes.

The entry date is as soon as possible, and the duration of employment is limited to 6 months. The position is part-time with 50% of the regular weekly working time (currently 19.5h). Ongoing applications are possible until all positions are filled.

International applicants may have to successfully complete a visa process before hiring can take place. Candidates with handicaps will be preferred if equally qualified. Please enclose proof. The position is part of the SE²A International Female Programme, so only applications by female graduates of non-German universities are possible.
