MAG Aerospace is seeking a professional Release Manager to join the Project Manager Cyber & Space (PM C&S) Product Manager Information Warfare Cyber Infrastructure (PdM IWCI) team located in Hanover, MD. In this role, the candidate will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, and hardware upgrades. Where necessary, the Release Manager will provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments.
- Works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments.
- Works with PM Technical management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.
- Build the Test & Integration (T&I) release calendar in working closely with the project officers and centralizing view of all releases.
- Leads the effort of defining the strategic direction for release management tools to ensure the process requirements of release management are built in.
- Assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence to ensure the integrity of the release can be measured.
- Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across a program.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
- Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed expectations.
- Coordinate with the various team members on the release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates.
- Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes.
- Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
- Conduct Release Readiness reviews and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
- Produce Deployment and Implementation Plans.
- Weekly Release Reporting.
- Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required.
- Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.
- Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
- Continually work towards making improvements in the release process.
- Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks.
- Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
- Hands on experience implementing and managing release processes for code through development, test, and production environments.
- Experience implementing process improvements as it pertains to CM and software release management.
- Experience conducting Release Readiness reviews and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
- Hands on experience creating Deployment and Implementation Plans.
- Experience collaborating and coordinating with project teams on software release schedule and software application deployment.
- Must be able to build the Test & Integration (T&I) release calendar in working closely with the project officers and centralizing view of all releases.
- Must be able to manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations.
- Must be able to maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
- Must be able to maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
Clearance
Education
- AA degree or 2-year technical school
Experience
- 3-5 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience in development of scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
Other Qualifications
- Ability to travel 10% conus
- Ability to work in office/field/lab environments

Salary at MAG Aerospace is determined by various factors including but not limited to location, the particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $0 to $140,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAG's total compensation package for employees.
