Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will contribute innovative technology solutions to solve industrial problems, offering creative ideas for R&D projects and proposing follow-up activities based on new concepts. The work model for the role is: hybrid This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Buildings in Heidelberg. You will be mainly accountable for: • Contribute to results by understanding ABB's key business drivers and aligning activities with targets. • Track technology trends and ABB products to guide R&D with relevant technical drivers. • Enhance operations and customer satisfaction through consulting and addressing requests. • Share technical knowledge within project teams and support colleagues in using tools and processes. • Engage in expert networks to deepen knowledge and participate in intellectual property discussions. • Identify risks in R&D projects and develop clearance reports.

Qualifications for the role

• Over 3 years’ experience as a Software Quality Engineer in software/system testing, with expertise in home automation (e.g., KNX).
• Strong knowledge of test automation, regression testing, and the home/building market.
• Skilled in creating hardware test setups and integrating them into cloud-based testing.
• Active in defining tests and methodologies, with programming skills in Typescript and C/C++.
• Familiarity with platforms/tools like Azure, Visual Studio, and Polarion.
• Solution-focused with excellent communication skills in German and English.
