The Cinema for Peace Foundation is looking for a Project Manager for the project "The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, Tech, and Humankind" to join the Cinema for Peace team in Berlin.

Since 9/11, 2001, the Cinema for Peace initiative has been aiming to influence through films the perception and resolution of global social, political, and humanitarian challenges of our time - especially to oppose war and terror. In recent years, Cinema for Peace has supported a number of important causes and films with artists and personalities such as Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, the Dalai Lama, Muhammad Ali, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the former Honorary Patron Nelson Mandela.

The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, Tech, and Humankind will be an annual conference held in Berlin, Germany, that unites leaders from politics, civil society, and culture, engaged in ideas and practices for a better world and fundamental change. The World Forum serves as a platform where pressing socio-political issues of our time are discussed and tackled, while providing opportunities for official and unofficial diplomatic encounters, which may pave the way for progress on democracy, peace, justice, and freedoms. Every suitable panel will be followed by a lawmaking workshop where blueprint legislation will be developed with the goal of being used all over the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the organizing of The World Forum and associated events.
  • Develop concept notes and strategies in close cooperation with the team.
  • Liaise with existing and potential partners and donors to build stable relationships, as well as identify and bring in new donors and partners for the project.
  • Prepare and execute invitations to keynote speakers and panel participants, including heads of state, Nobel laureates, and other influential personalities.
  • Liaise with potential partner organizations, charity organizations, and high-ranking individuals from governments and ICSOs to explore possibilities of cooperation and synergy in projects.
  • Support the organizing of high-profile advocacy and fundraising events associated with the project.
  • Organize event logistics.
  • Oversee human resource management and recruitment.

Requirements:

  • Educational qualifications in the field of Human Rights, International Relations, or other related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience managing similar high-profile projects or events on an international level.
  • Strong knowledge of global sociopolitical issues.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English is required; German is a strong asset.
  • Experience managing and drafting concept notes and budgets.
  • Proven experience in writing policy papers.

If you are interested, please apply with your CV and a one-page cover letter in one PDF file through LinkedIn.

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis; therefore, early applications are preferred. Due to the high number of applications, we will only respond to shortlisted candidates.
