OFFICE LOCATIONThe Project Manager can be based from a physical office and/or home office in Palau, Marshall Islands, Pohnpei, or from a home office in Guam, Chuuk, Kosrae or Yap. No working visas or relocation assistance is available for this role. The role will require domestic and international travel of approximately 25% of time. This is a three-year fixed term role, which may be extended subject to funding.

What We Can Achieve TogetherThe Project Manager will be responsible for managing and leading a large-scale regional complex project in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and the Republic of Palau (ROP). The position can be in FSM, ROP, or RMI, with a preference for FSM. The Project Manager is a fixed term 3-year position. This term may be extended subject to funding.
The Project Manager provides leadership and support to the Micronesia & Polynesia chapter in implementing a Kiwa-Micronesia Conservation Trust (MCT) funded project focused on increasing Biodiversity and Climate Resilience in Micronesia. The project will work with local partners to build the capacity of women’s groups to implement Nature Based Solutions to Climate change impacts that improve food security in the FSM, RMI, and ROP.
The Project Manager will establish project goals and success factors, and will develop project plans, budgets, metrics, and schedules with input and buy-in from key stakeholders and team members in alignment with the project. They will critically assess project scope and objectives, ensuring all risks and dependencies are addressed in the project plan to deliver successful project results that support the fulfilment of the objectives. In collaboration with MCT, they will lead the project team to successfully achieve identified goals in the most cost-effective and time-saving manner possible. The Project Manager will obtain go/no-go decisions at all project decision points from the Project Lead or Sponsor and identify and obtain approval for project deliverables from the appropriate staff or teams. Throughout the project lifecycle, the Project Manager will monitor and measure project progress, conduct corrective action as necessary, and communicate project status information to all stakeholders. They will perform risk management, issue resolution, and conflict management, and collaboratively solve complex problems. They will utilize project management methodologies and processes and ensure all organizational and divisional standards are met. They will act as a resource to other staff and project managers to provide project management guidance, training, and expertise.

What You'll BringMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
- 2 years of project management experience or 1 year acting as a project lead.
- Experience in managing and tracking multiple projects including scheduling and budget.
- Experience managing project teams and working with cross-functional staff.
- Experience using project management techniques and tools.
Desired Qualifications- Coursework or other training on project management principles experience.
- Experience working in the Federated State of Micronesia (FSM), Republic of Marshall Islands (RMI), or Republic of Palau (ROP).
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- Knowledge of Climate Change Impacts and Nature Based Solutions to Climate Change in the Pacific.
- Ability to manage and implement complex processes.
- Experience supervising staff, interns, and/or volunteers.
- Proficiency in interpreting guidelines and manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to negotiate, influence, and persuade.
