Project Engineer Offshore Cable Installation

Our client is seeking Project Engineers to join their team for an offshore cables installation campaign. This role involves overseeing the transport and installation of submarine cables, including high-voltage DC export cables, to ensure the successful internal cabling of the wind farm. Applicants are expected to be available to mobilise this season.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and manage the logistics for transporting submarine cables from manufacturing sites to the offshore installation location.
2. Oversee the installation process of submarine cables, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
3. Provide technical expertise during the transport and installation phases, addressing any engineering challenges that arise.
4. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment during transport and installation activities.
5. Monitor the quality of cable transport and installation, ensuring compliance with engineering designs, safety regulations, and project specifications.
6. Manage resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient and timely completion of transport and installation tasks.
7. Maintain detailed records of transport and installation activities, including logistics plans, safety reports, inspection records, and change orders.
8. Monitor and control project costs related to transport and installation, identifying opportunities to optimise spending while maintaining quality and safety standards.
9. Regularly update clients on project progress, addressing any changes or issues, and ensuring client requirements are met.
10. Respond effectively to emergencies during transport and installation, including participating in safety drills and addressing alarms.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
2. Relevant certifications in offshore safety.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in offshore cable transport and installation project engineering.
4. Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the offshore environment.
5. Proficiency in engineering tools and software.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
7. Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures.
