Program Manager Astronomy (m/f/d)

Your Tasks:

• Responsible for the program Astronomy
• Key contact person for customers, suppliers, subcontractors and other partners from industry, science and politics. Establishing and maintaining important relationships for successful company development.
• Creation and implementation of a strategy and the corresponding objectives for the program area based on the corporate strategy, the corporate objectives and a high level of customer orientation.
• Responsibility for introducing new and adapting existing processes and workflows as well as introducing new tools and technologies and adapting the program organization and creating optimal and smooth framework conditions for the most efficient processing and execution of work within the program area. Monitoring the effectiveness of the measures.
• Knowledge generation, information exchange and networking with the project teams in the program area as well as the division managers and other internal interfaces.

Your Qualifications:

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical engineering, mechatronics, high-frequency engineering or physics, aerospace engineering) or comparable qualification.
• Sound technical expertise in the development of radio or optical telescopes or similarly complex scientific systems.
• Several years of management responsibility.
• Very good communication skills and high conflict resolution skills; very high problem solving orientation; very good analytical skills and a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
• High degree of assertiveness, very well organized and structured working method.
• Reliability, confident and convincing appearance.
• Very good knowledge of German and English.
• Willingness to travel.
