Job Summary
We are seeking a Process Optimization Specialist to drive operational excellence within our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) organization. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a collaborative approach, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Essential Functions and Tasks
Process Analysis and Improvement:
- Analyze existing workflows across RCM functions, such as coding, billing, and denials management, to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and optimize resource allocation.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze operational data to uncover trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Create dashboards and reports to track the performance of implemented changes and their impact on key metrics.
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear and actionable format.
Change Management:
- Lead process improvement initiatives from planning through execution, ensuring stakeholder alignment and minimal disruption to operations.
- Train staff on new workflows and processes, ensuring smooth adoption.
- Monitor and address challenges that arise during the transition phase.
Performance Monitoring:
- Establish benchmarks and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of optimized processes.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure improvements are sustained and continue to meet organizational needs.
- Identify areas for further enhancement based on ongoing performance data.
Innovation and Best Practices:
- Research industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Implement best practices in RCM operations to maintain a competitive edge.
- Provide input on automation and technology solutions to drive efficiency.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- 4-6 years of experience in process optimization, operations management, or a related role, preferably within the US Healthcare or RCM industry.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Experience in workflow optimization for healthcare RCM systems.
- Familiarity with automation tools and technologies that support operational efficiency such as Bots / RPA.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams and ability to digest and synthesize information.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to communicate with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and professional manner.
- Ability to remain flexible and work within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel (pivot tables), and database software skills.
