Our Engineering organization is responsible for the planning, construction, and further development of our production facilities. As a Process Lead Engineer (m/w/d), you will work in multidisciplinary teams on national and international projects, coordinating and executing process planning in all project phases.
Responsibilities:
- You will create basic plant concepts, develop the process and plant layout, and track process-related tasks through all project phases, from concept creation to commissioning.
- You will prepare process-relevant documents such as P&ID diagrams, process descriptions, and plant safety concepts, defining requirements for other involved disciplines. You will manage process planning documents and conduct quality-relevant design reviews.
- You will gain comprehensive knowledge of our plants and processes to analyze project tasks and implement sustainable plant concepts.
- In larger projects, you will lead a team of several project engineers in process planning.
- In collaboration models with external contractors, you will define planning goals for process planning and monitor their execution.
- As a member of the Field Engineering Team, you will support the assembly phase and accompany the commissioning in the start-up team.
- In small to medium projects, you will also take on project management and handle equipment and piping planning.
- You will be responsible for quality, costs, and timelines of the project, adapting technical standards to project-specific requirements.
Qualifications:
- You have a degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field, with broad knowledge of fundamental process operations.
- You have several years of professional experience in process planning and project execution in chemical plant construction or similar fields.
- You possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a structured working style.
- You efficiently handle complex technical, financial, and time-related challenges and resolve conflicts.
- Your high motivation and willingness to learn contribute to the overall success of Covestro.
- You are mobile and willing to travel for projects at all NRW locations, and you are open to participating in international projects that may involve extended stays abroad.
- Excellent MS Office skills are required.
- Fluent in German and good command of English, both spoken and written, are essential.
