The Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (KU) is a non-state university under church leadership and officially recognized by the Free State of Bavaria. The KU Faculty of Mathematics and Geography’s research group Mathematics - Scientific Computing at the Mathematical Institute for Machine Learning and Data Science (MIDS) is seeking highly motivated candidates for a full-time position (100%) Postdoctoral Researcher with the earliest possible starting date, at the latest, however, on October 1, 2025, on the level of research associate or lecturer (Akademischer Rat auf Zeit) with initial contract duration of 3 years. The aim is to extend the employment contract for another three years after that. The place of work will be Ingolstadt. Provided that the requirements are met, remuneration in the private-law employment relationship will be according to the pay grade E 13 TV-L or A 13 if the requirements under German public service law are met. The possibility of writing a habilitation is provided.
The research group Scientific Computing of Prof. Götz Pfander works as part of the MIDS team on the development and mathematical analysis of methods in data science, in particular those based on harmonic and functional analysis. Focus topics include signal processing, information theory, sampling theory and bases of exponentials, time-frequency analysis, phase retrieval, quantization and machine learning.
