This Is Us
We, the group around the W2 professorship for anatomy and intercellular adhesion, focus on research in the regulation of desmosomal adhesion in the skin. We dedicate our work to the characterization of desmosomal adhesion using biophysical techniques and investigate mechanisms that contribute to loss of intercellular adhesion in the bullous autoimmune disease pemphigus. With this, we would like to contribute to a more concise understanding of how desmosomes adhere while we aim to identify novel therapeutic approaches to treat desmosomal diseases. For our team, we search for an enthusiastic and highly motivated researcher (m/f/d).
