The theoretical department of Prof. Ali Alavi (https://www.fkf.mpg.de/alavi) is seeking a

• Point of contact for the department by phone and e-mail
• Making travel and meeting arrangements
• Supporting the management of workshops and conferences
• Handling day-to-day e-mail correspondence in English and German
• Assistance to members of the department and guest scientists including support in finding accommodation
• Interacting with the institute’s administration: Travel expenses, purchasing of materials, inventory etc.
• Editing the department’s website in the MPG content management system

• Successfully completed vocational education (e.g. Fremdsprachenkorrespondent*in or Kaufmann*frau für Büromanagement)
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and German
• Proficiency in standard software. Experience with CMS is beneficial.
• Open-mindedness
• Flexibility and good organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• You should enjoy working in an international scientific environment.
• Experience in an international research environment will be an advantage.
