Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Network Subject Matter Expert (SME). The Network SME will be responsible for network administration, troubleshooting, network security, network design, and networking tasks on a day-to-day basis.

Ideal Candidate Profile (Experience): At least 10 years’ experience in data center network assessment, design, and implementation. Should have worked with various datacenter networking technologies and tools to configure, troubleshoot and report.

Assessment / Certification mandated for progression: CCNP / CCNP + level, ITIL
Key Responsibilities
- At least 10 years of experience in networking
- Ability to work as a technician, including installing and connecting network devices
- Configuration of Extreme switches via CLI and NMS
- L2 troubleshooting capabilities
- Basic project management skills to coordinate connectivity activities with the overall project manager of the M&A activities
- Hands-on experience on Extreme Network Products & Fabrics for site redesigning and modernization (hardware refresh)
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient network architectures leveraging Extreme Networks products such as ExtremeSwitching, ExtremeRouting, and ExtremeWireless solutions (includes security solutions like NAC A3)
- Develop comprehensive network solutions that incorporate technologies like Fabric Connect for simplified network management and VXLAN for efficient virtualization
- Lead the deployment of cutting-edge Extreme Networks hardware, including 7X, 5X, 2X series switches, and configure advanced features such as stacking, VLANs, and dynamic routing protocols
- Implement and optimize ExtremeWireless solutions, including access points, controllers, and cloud-driven management for seamless wireless connectivity
- Utilize ExtremeAnalytics to monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance, addressing any bottlenecks or issues promptly
- Implement advanced features like Application Analytics and Control to enhance network visibility and ensure optimal performance for critical applications (Plant, Manufacturing, Office & Project Office)
- Implement and enforce security measures using Extreme Networks technologies such as ExtremeControl for network access control (NAC) and role-based access
- Utilize ExtremeSecurity features like threat intelligence integration and behavioral analysis to protect against evolving cybersecurity threats
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution for complex network problems using tools like ExtremeManagement
- Collaborate with Extreme Networks technical support to diagnose and resolve escalated network issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures using ExtremeControl Center
- Generate regular reports on network performance, security, and capacity utilizing ExtremeAnalytics and reporting tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Network Operations, Cloud & On-Prem Infrastructure Operations, and Network Security teams, to ensure seamless integration of Extreme Networks solutions
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior members of the network engineering team
