Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a "Mechanical Engineer" in a technical sophisticated business related to power conversion equipment in the marine business for our location in Hamburg as soon as possible. If you would like to contribute your sound professional experience paired with your distinctive hands-on mentality, then apply at ABB and become part of our motivated team! Your main responsibilities:

1. Development of customer-specific mechanical solutions for control cabinets and power converters, including technical documentation for products in special shipbuilding.
2. Responsible for conducting design reviews.
3. Close cooperation with electrical engineering development and production in solving product-related issues.
4. Integration of electrical and mechanical components into the design.
5. Supervision of the mechanical design over the entire product life cycle from the prototype phase to the series product.
6. Ensure that contractual obligations are met while respecting safety and quality.

Qualifications for the role

• Completed technical education and/or technical studies.
• Experience in SOLIDWORKS CAD and SOLIDWORKS PDM.
• Interest in the development of power electronics.
• Good mechanical, electrical and thermal understanding.
• Practical experience.
