Mech & Piping Quality Inspector – Germany

This role is a 100% site-based position in Wessling, Germany, requiring fluent knowledge in oral and written German and a good understanding of spoken English. It is open to self-employed candidates with the existing right to work in Germany.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee daily Mechanical and Piping construction activities to ensure compliance with Project codes, standards, and specifications.
2. Provide coordination, direction, and support for Site Quality requirements to the Construction Management Team, Contractors, Vendors, and Client.
3. Resolve Site Mechanical and Piping Quality issues.
4. Approve incoming mechanical and piping materials and equipment by confirming specifications, conducting visual and dimensional checks, and ensuring quality paperwork is completed, including submission of documents to the Completions Management System.
5. Participate in Inspection and Test Plan inspections and ensure completion results are submitted to the Completions Management System.
6. Review and accept equipment, material, weld fit-up, welding, and NDT inspection records.
7. Support the preparation of Project Quality records and their submission into the Completions Management System.
8. Support the Project HSSE programmes and ensure that HSSE activities are performed and that HSSE goals, objectives, and targets are met.
9. Monitor Contractor/Vendor performance and ensure that Quality Control goals, objectives, and targets are met.
10. Deputize for the Quality Lead as required.

General Requirements:

1. Attend construction/Contractor/third-party meetings as required.
2. Consult and communicate with other disciplines and Contractors/Vendor personnel.
3. Experience in the implementation and compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
4. Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word.
5. Further education Quality level qualification preferred; experience and training levels will be considered alongside academic qualifications.
6. Quality certification in Welding and/or Non-Destructive Testing.
7. Petrochemical, oil, and gas industry experience in a Quality role with a proven technical background in Mechanical and Piping.
