The Faculty of Engineering and Mathematics seeks to appoint a Professor (W2) in Automation Technology and Mechatronics.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AT HSBI

1. You teach in the field of automation technology and mechatronics in its fundamentals, specialization subjects and adjoining modules in the bachelor's and master's degree programmes at Gütersloh Campus.
2. You develop and improve the international bachelor's degree program "Mechatronics and Automation" as well as support the further development of the other international degree programs at Gütersloh Campus.
3. You expand and maintain international collaborations with companies and universities.
4. You develop and enhance the profile of Gütersloh Campus through research and development in the represented teaching area.
5. As part of your professorship, you contribute to promoting and developing research cooperations in the region.
6. You develop your own research activities at the faculty.
7. You actively procure third-party funds for your research.
8. You participate in academic committees.

YOU SHOULD BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

1. You have completed an academic degree and a doctorate in the field of automation technology, mechatronics, electrical engineering or in related fields of study with above-average performance.
2. You have at least five years of professional experience - of which you worked at least three years outside the university - in the application and/or development of industrial control and automation technology.
3. You have knowledge and experience in the development, application and commissioning of mechatronic systems in industrial practice.
4. You have experience in the development of study programs and in the conceptual design of education and training courses.
5. Your English skills enable you to teach courses in English. If necessary, you are also willing to teach in German.
6. You have pedagogical and didactic skills (ideally proven by teaching experience at universities) and the ability to successfully convey the course contents to the students and enjoy passing on your knowledge.
7. You have recognized research and publication activity in the field you are teaching and ideally experience in acquiring third-party funding.
8. You are familiar with digital teaching and learning formats.

Additional academic achievements may replace the requirements according to Section 36(1) No. 5 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (provided as part of a junior professorship, a Habilitation (post-doctoral degree), an activity as a research assistant at a university or a non-university research institution or as part of a scientific activity in business or administration or in another area of society in Germany or abroad).
