Our client, a global leader in the material handling industry for heavy industrial and light industrial customers, has engaged our firm to help them recruit a Managing Director for the European business.
Responsibilities
Understand corporate strategic priorities and translate them into short and long-range business goals and objectives with achievable and measurable outcomes.
Oversee all operational aspects of the business. Regularly review production and operating reports and resolve operational and facility problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Manage all financial aspects of the operation with full accountability for the entity’s contribution to the global organization’s profitability. Establish and manage subsidiary budget and monthly forecasts, including analysis of capital spending and controllable expenditures to understand financial impact to the business.
Ensure optimum operating efficiency by consistently monitoring and identifying ways to improve business processes and reduce costs. Review, assess, and recommend optimal organizational structure to achieve desired sales and profit goals.
Build strong relationships with key customers and distributors to better understand their needs and ensure Client remains a valued supplier. Foster a customer-first attitude with company management and staff.
Oversee the strategic relationship between subsidiary and global functions. Lead business team meetings with senior management to report on performance metrics, business objective milestones/accomplishments and areas of concern.
Convey strong leadership attributes and build strong teamwork throughout the organization. Serve as role model in representing and driving Client values both internally and externally.
Consistent with corporate policy, manage and develop local literature, sales support, and advertising programs. Maintain a positive and professional image in all external communications and marketing initiatives.
Develop and execute a plan to increase sales revenue, establishing sound pricing and channel strategies.
Ensure that the Client operation has the people skills and capabilities to deliver services and to follow through on commitments. Hire, train, assess and evaluate current and future employees to ensure a highly skilled and motivated staff. Build a multi-skilled team in alignment with Client’s core values. Manage and mentor staff members through strategic deployment, development, and performance management.
Perform duties as the lead resident director, ensuring all local statutory requirements are fulfilled while satisfying all fiduciary obligations to the entity stakeholders.
