Logistics Specialist, Data Center Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Logistics Specialists to join our Data Center team. As a Logistics Specialist you will take part in our Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP) in a Frankfurt Data Center.

As a trainee, you will participate in our 3-month work and training program. This position will help ensure overall availability and reliability for our customers within our Data Centres in Frankfurt. Once the training period is completed, employees have the opportunity to transition to part-time employment.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand
  2. Handle incoming shipments, including unpacking boxes, performing checks and system updates to material tracking databases
  3. Receive parts, maintain inventory, and check-out parts as needed to Data Center Technicians and Engineers
  4. Keep accurate records of material movements
  5. Monitor inventory levels to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained to support build and repair activities
  6. Operate Return Merchandise Authorization process and receive replacements
  7. Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from various locations
  8. Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of company
  9. Adhere to strict safety standards and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workspaces
  10. Frequent lifting of materials and products, placing items in storage, managing parts in shelving and pallet locations, extracting and moving parts from site-specific areas.

This role is full-time (40 hours/week). As a Logistics Specialist you will be required to travel to multiple sites as part of daily operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. 18 years or older
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying strong time management skills
