Your Future Role
The Local Chief Accountant is responsible for providing updated, clear, consistent and pertinent data about the financial position of the Group, Sectors or Units, both for external and internal use. His/her key accountabilities are:
- Accounting Leadership: Manage the accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, and ensure the timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS.
- Monthly Reporting: Prepare and ensure timely monthly IFRS reporting to the central Alstom Teranga system.
- Compliance & Taxes: Ensure compliance with legal regulations and collaborate with auditors and tax advisors.
- ERP Integration: Support the stabilization of the new GSI ERP system into existing financial processes to enhance efficiency and common standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals including yearly target setting and appraisal.
- Obligations: Ensure compliance with internal and external obligations, such as preparing statistical reports for the Federal Statistical Office and other relevant authorities.
- Point of contact: for non-routine transactions and analysis.
- Cash Flow & Risk Management: Monitor cash flow and mitigate financial risks.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Support forecasting and budgeting processes for non-contract-related positions.
All About You
- University degree or business degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Strong understanding of business and financial indicators, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
- Extensive experience in utilizing accounting and reporting tools to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to dynamic business environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.
- Fluency in both German and English is required for effective communication within the organization and with international stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accuracy in all financial reporting activities.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in accounting and finance.
