Legal Counsel - Engineering

Your tasks:

1. Reviewing and analysing international terms and conditions, endorsements and clauses in the Engineering/Construction insurance.
2. Preparation of globally standardised terms and conditions, benchmarks and individual endorsements for HDI.
3. Answering questions from the underwriting community and translating underwriting intentions into proven policy wordings.
4. Developing and delivering training on insurance terms and conditions.
5. Liaising with the legal, claims, compliance and reinsurance departments.
6. Monitoring market developments and current case law.
7. Expansion of the AI-based wording tool.

Your profile:

1. Extensive, international experience in drafting contract-specific insurance policies and endorsements.
2. Proven in-depth knowledge of Engineering/Construction wordings with a clear understanding of the challenges associated with Engineering/Construction risks, such as market uncertainty and potential litigation due to unclear wordings.
3. Legal background is an advantage.
4. Excellent communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
5. Business fluent in English, German desirable.
