Lean Agile Leader (LAL) (f / m / d)

Role comprises three domains:

  1. People / Teams leadership (see details in Areas of Responsibilities)
  2. Operation leadership (see details in Areas of Responsibilities)
  3. Leadership team LAL is an active team member in the Startup leadership team.

Participate in team decisions and collaborate to ensure alignment of strategy and execution.

LAL drives and sustains organizational change and operational excellence by empowering individuals and teams to reach their highest potential.

LAL achieves this through leading by example, having a Lean-Agile mindset, and creating an environment that encourages high-performing Agile teams to flourish and produce value.

Areas of Responsibilities

People & Teams

Overall responsibility on:

  • The forming of new agile teams
  • Developing and coaching of agile teams
  • Recruiting and retaining the people
  • Developing people skills and career paths
  • Managing compensation and benefits
  • Responsible for the team satisfaction, motivation, and morale

Operations:

  • Drive Lean-Agile mindset across the SU
  • Lean-Agile practitioner and coach
  • Drive relentless improvement & built-in quality
  • Continually focus on eliminating waste and delays
  • Encourage collaboration as needed, between the teams and the various roles
  • Ensure DevOps and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline are being improved on a regular basis
  • Encourage collaboration as needed between startups and other SW / Siemens units
  • Ensure that SAFe ceremonies at the ART and team level are being facilitated and executed effectively
  • Ensure the flow of value through the ART and Solution train is managed and optimized
  • Ensure escalations, dependencies, and risks are tracked and managed properly as necessary
  • Drive innovation across the SU
  • Actively support fostering Communities of Practice

  • Foundations of Lean & Agile (core values, principles, and practices)
  • Technology stack of the Startup portfolio
  • Foundations of Lean-Startup and SAFe (principles, methods, and practices)
  • Startup business needs, its markets, and customers
  • Startup Vision, Strategy, and Go to Market

  • Good communication skills
  • Be able to empower others through emotional intelligence, relationship building, and treating individuals as equals
  • Good influencing skills
  • Teaching and mentoring skills - nurtures the SU's understanding of Lean-Agile principles and practices
  • Lifelong learner - Strive to build own skills through continuous learning (e.g. training, books, blogs, podcasts, seminars, CoP, meetups, forums, and discussion groups)

  • Courage to say what needs to be said in a respectful and tactful way
  • Transparent Critical Thinking - quickly analyze a situation and organize the team to discuss a possible solution
