As Lead Platform Engineer (f/m/d) at remberg, you will lead and shape our platform team by driving technical excellence. You’ll take ownership of our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability, while also empowering your team to deliver high-impact solutions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• You provide technical leadership for the Platform Engineering domain, defining goals, setting priorities, and ensuring successful execution of initiatives
• You will lay the foundation for a future team whose members you will mentor and develop later by fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
• You drive the long-term platform strategy, aligning the roadmap with business needs and ensuring scalability, security, and performance at every step
• You act as the key point of contact between the platform domain and other stakeholders, such as Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication
• You take responsibility for the technical direction and delivery of platform domain tasks, ensuring best practices in DevOps, infrastructure management, and platform reliability
• You drive cross-team engineering initiatives to ensure the reliability and stability of our software, and every few weeks, together with the product & engineering team, you ship new features for our cloud-based software that immediately bring real value to our customers
• You own our AWS cloud stack and help get us ready for the next phase of growth
• You design and implement tools, components, and DevOps processes to empower our product teams to build, test, deploy, and monitor their applications more efficiently
• You lead efforts to improve observability across the platform, contributing to the creation of better metrics, SLOs, dashboards, and tools to enable data-driven decisions
• You find the right balance between performance, security, and simplicity, considering both current requirements and future growth

YOUR PROFILE

You are looking for a challenging, fast-paced environment and have already proven in a similar position that you can work independently in a data-driven, highly reliable and structured manner.

• You have leadership experience and enjoy mentoring and guiding engineers to reach their full potential
• You are confident in making technical decisions and aligning the team around a shared vision while fostering collaboration and inclusivity
• You have a proven ability to manage priorities, resolve conflicts, and keep your team focused on delivering impactful results
• You have a strong background in Backend Engineering (preferably with Node) and a deep understanding of DevOps principles
• You bring several years of experience as a DevOps/Platform Engineer, and you’re ready to take on a leadership role to scale your impact
• You have extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies (preferably Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Cloud Computing, Containerisation, Chaos Engineering, and SLOs are areas where you excel and feel passionate about driving improvement
• You are an outstandingly proactive problem solver, always looking for ways to improve the codebase, engineering practices, and team processes
• You embrace feedback and are eager to learn from others while also helping your team grow through constructive input
• You learn from mistakes, share lessons with your team, and bring positivity and creativity to the table—even when facing challenges
• You remain calm and detail-oriented in difficult situations, approaching problems with both structure and creativity
• You have a strong written and spoken command of English (level C1)
• Nice to have: Experience in a fast-scaling SaaS environment, where you’ve balanced the demands of rapid growth and stability
• You are open to relocating to the Munich area and excited about contributing in a hybrid work environment
