ABOUT THE JOB
Gunzilla Games are looking to recruit a Lead Metagame & Monetization Designer to join us helping to lead our metagame design team to work on our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, due for release on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Lead Metagame & Monetization Designer, you will:
- Lead a team of game designers in creating, implementing, and managing a Metagame & Monetization Roadmaps ensuring alignment with the overall game vision and player experience.
- Design and manage the metagame economy, including the creation of in-game features that promote engagement and revenue generation.
- Collaborate with Design, Development, Production, and Product leadership to ensure that monetization systems are well-integrated and support overall game goals.
- Partner with the Analytics Team to perform data analysis that informs the effectiveness of monetization strategies and supports data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor trends in the game monetization field, ensuring that our strategies are innovative and aligned with industry best practices.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team, ensuring the successful implementation of monetization and metagame features.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in game design with at least one shipped AAA title
- Experience in systems design, monetization, and player engagement strategies.
- Proven success in creating compelling and innovative systems, ideally in Battle Royale
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
- Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine Editor.
- Strong understanding of player psychology and engagement strategies.
- Experience in user testing and analyzing player feedback to drive iterative design improvements.
- Understanding of monetization strategies and player retention techniques.
- Experience in designing and balancing progression and economy systems.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
- Ability to create and maintain comprehensive design documentation and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and openness to changes.
