Be part of our diverse team and help redefine the future of mobility while embodying our Design strategy, “Opposites United.” As a Junior Designer in our Next Exterior Design Team at Kia Europe in Frankfurt, you will embark on the journey of creation, developing exterior designs for concept cars and production vehicles by meticulously translating ideas into detailed drawings, and strikingly realistic renderings.

Program Overview:

Starting in January 2025, you will have a chance to work for Kia Europe Design Studio for the next 2 years. You will collaborate with senior designers and engineers to transform concepts into captivating products. As a Junior Designer, you'll bring a fresh perspective to the future of Kia’s Exterior design direction. Depending on your performance during the program, you will have a chance to continue your journey with us or with another Kia studio at the end of the program.

What We Offer You:

• Mentorship Program: Firstly, you'll meet team members from all departments and gain insight into their ongoing projects. In your first weeks, you'll rotate through our departments, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our operations. Throughout the entire program, you'll also be paired with a designer and an industry expert who will mentor you, providing invaluable feedback and support to advance your career development.

• Valuable Experience: You will have an opportunity to participate in ongoing high-impact projects from day one. Through our Kia Graduate Program, you will gain hands-on industry experience and see your work come to life. During the program you have the opportunity to visit our design headquarter to build connections and immerse yourself in the real-life car development process.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding Kia’s Brand DNA and Design Vision

• Creating innovative design proposals for production and concept cars.

• Supporting projects through all stages, from the first sketch to 3D data and full-size models.

• Generating new product development solutions as part of the team.

• Handling design projects and presentations in cooperation with our design management team.

• Closely collaborating with all related functions within the Design and RD departments.

Requirements:

• A recent graduate with a degree in Industrial Design, Automotive Design, or a related field.

• Proven record of completing internships in the Automotive industry

• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Blender, Alias, Adobe Creative Suite, etc).

• Strong sketching and conceptualization skills.

• Ability to manage time and deadlines, as well as the ability to adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the Automotive

• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization

• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication and presentation skills in English

• A genuine passion for automotive design and a drive for innovation.

Recruitment Journey:

• Application Deadline: Submit your application with a CV and a portfolio by November 29th, 2024.

• Initial Interview: Selected candidates will be invited for an initial interview in December.

• Second Interview: Shortlisted candidates will complete a task and participate in a second interview to further demonstrate their skills and present their tasks.

• Final Decision: Successful candidates will join the team between January 1 and April 1, 2025.
