Your duties include

  • Representation and promotion of the research focus in one of the following areas: Process Management, Data Management, IT Security or AI in the context of teaching and applied research at the Technology Transfer Center Neustadt Aisch.
  • Desirable would be a combination of two of the above-mentioned areas (Process Management, Data Management, IT Security or AI), e.g. the development and implementation of security measures or data protection strategies in AI and Data Science projects.
  • Management of the Technology Transfer Center NEA with the tasks of strategic planning, acquisition, operational management and monitoring of daily business operations.
  • Proactive acquisition of third-party funding for research and transfer activities as part of the activities of the TTZ.
  • Integrating topics into courses for Master's and Bachelor's degree programs at the university.
  • Establishing and maintaining research collaborations as part of the management of the Technology Transfer Center.
  • Practice-oriented teaching in the subject areas both in German and in English as well as using digital formats (e-learning, blended learning).
  • High-quality supervision of practical assignments, Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as doctorates.
  • Involvement in setting up new international partnerships and maintaining existing ones.
  • Active and interdisciplinary involvement in the administering academic affairs.

You offer

  • Preferably an academic university degree (Bachelor & Master or equivalent) in (Applied) Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Security, Data Protection or Engineering.
  • Above-average professional and/or academic qualifications in one of the mentioned fields (Process Management, Data Management, IT Security or AI), proven by relevant publications and/or projects.
  • Experience in managing research facilities or projects.
  • Very good German and English proficiency as well as ability and willingness to teach in German and in English.
  • Enthusiasm for passing on your practical experience in teaching and applied research to our students as future junior academics.

Recruitment pursuant to Article 64 (2) of the BayHIG

  • Completed university degree, preferably in the field of (Applied) Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Security, Data Protection or Engineering.
  • Excellent academic achievements in research demonstrated by an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Pedagogical aptitude.
  • Special achievements in the application or development of academic knowledge and methods in a minimum of five years of work experience, which must have been acquired after completion of the university degree and of which at least three years must have been acquired outside the university sector. If, over a period of at least five years, a considerable portion of your work involved a cooperation between a university and a non-academic employer, this time may be considered to meet the requirements for non-academic work experience in special cases (pursuant to Article 57 (3) Sentence 1 No. 3 of the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act (BayHIG)).

The following qualifications can be acquired during the term of a junior professorship:

1. Excellent academic achievements in research, demonstrated by an outstanding doctorate.

2. Alternatively: At least five years of professional experience after completion of the university degree programme.
