Junior Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (salary grade: W1) with tenure track to W3
to commence as soon as possible as a fixed-term civil service position.
We are looking for scientists of international visibility to strengthen the Department of Computer Science with independent research and teaching profiles in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is broadly construed here, with subfields such as, for example, Deep Learning, Explainability, Uncertainty Quantification, Computer Vision, Symbolic AI, or Optimal Control / Reinforcement Learning. The prospective candidate should not only enrich the Computer Science group; in addition, it is intended to foster cooperation in research and teaching with related disciplines.
The successful applicant will be renowned in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and this must be proven through excellent publications in the field. Willingness and ability to attract research funding must be noticeable. Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellent teaching. The incumbent will be expected to contribute to teaching at both bachelor and master levels and in PhD programmes, both in Computer Science and in interdisciplinary study programmes.
The ability to teach in English and German is expected.
