(Junior) GCP DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) - Marketing Intelligence and Technology Team

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and proactive GCP Platform Engineer (m/f/d) to join our GCP Operations team.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of BigQuery and other GCP services. Your focus will be on cost efficiency, performance optimization, and improving infrastructure reliability. You will collaborate with IT Cost Controlling (ITCC) to establish a structured cost monitoring approach and improve cost transparency.

What you will do

• Ensure the reliability and efficiency of all GCP infrastructure and services, with a strong focus on BigQuery.
• Optimize cloud costs by researching and implementing cost-effective solutions.
• Support teams across the entire company by providing infrastructure solutions and troubleshooting.
• Work on VPC connectivity projects between GCP and AWS to establish a single, efficient connection.
• Collaborate with IT Cost Controlling (ITCC) to define a cost monitoring approach and improve cost transparency.
• Evaluate and implement the most efficient BigQuery pricing models (on-demand vs. reservation).
• Maintain and enhance infrastructure as code (Terraform) for deployment automation.

Who you are

• At least 2 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps, or in a similar role.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery.
• Knowledge of other cloud providers (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Proficient in Python.
• Strong expertise in SQL.
• Experience with Terraform to manage infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with GitLab.
• Docker for containerization is a plus.
• Fluent in English both spoken and written.
