You’ll be equipped with a $100,000 travel budget that covers airfare, hotel stays, visa processing, equipment, and more, along with a competitive salary.
What you’ll do
Some of your responsibilities as a travel journalist will include:
- Travelling the world: Travel to border crossings around the world to gather first-hand information, experiences, and insights.
- Documenting your experiences: Document the travel visa processing procedures for different countries, capturing the nuances and intricacies unique to each nation, embassy, and travel methods (e.g. planes, trains, etc.).
- Capturing compelling visuals: Snap high-quality photos and shoot engaging videos that vividly illustrate the travel experience.
- Interviews: Conduct interviews with travellers, border officials, and other relevant stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives.
- Organizing findings: Develop effective methods to organize your findings to be used across teams and throughout the company’s content.
- Staying updated: Stay updated with the latest travel rules, regulations, and trends, ensuring information presented is always accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborating: Work in partnership with our editorial and marketing teams to optimize content presentation, messaging, and distribution.
Eligibility Requirements
- Willing to travel extensively (40+ weeks out of the year) and leave in March 2024
- Fluent in English with proficiency in additional languages considered a plus
- Proficiency in photography and videography
- Comfortable in front of the camera as you may be asked to record yourself for social media reels and/or videos
- Strong interviewing skills and an ability to connect with diverse individuals
- A deep appreciation for cultural nuances and an insatiable curiosity
