We are looking for an Investment Risk Analyst (m/f/d) in the global Risk Management team, based in Munich/Unterföhring.

Your Team
The holder of this position will become an important member of the Risk Management team of Allianz Commercial. You will be located in our Munich/Unterföhring office and report to the Head of Global Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Investment Risk Steering. The ALM & Investment Risk Steering team is responsible for all ALM and investment risk / governance related processes.

The Impact You Will Have
You will be responsible for supporting the management and coordination of risk management and control activities. The focus of the position is on the Solvency 2 credit risk capital and counterparty limit framework; the position also contributes to the market risk closing process and planning / oversight on investment result and risks of all Allianz Commercial entities.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Actively contribute to credit risk capital closing process and model governance and planning activities, including counterparty limit framework.
• Support market risk capital closing process and model governance and planning activities.
• Analyze, monitor, report on and plan investment result and risk development in close cooperation with our Investment Managers.
• Support / Contribute to investment closing and planning processes covering P&L, balance sheet and risk items.
• Support definition and implementation of corporate rules and process descriptions aiming for transparency and solid governance frameworks for own area of responsibility.
• Keep abreast of market developments, regulations and Allianz Group corporate rules affecting own area of responsibility.
• Support Investment / Finance related projects in close cooperation with other experts and our Investment Managers.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience:

Relevant experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience (including internships) in re-/insurance or investment management, with first experience in ALM and investment risk steering or Capital Management and/or quantitative financial risk modeling and Solvency 2.
• Project and teamwork in an international and dynamic environment.
• Effectively contributed to development and implementation of solutions to complex stakeholder requirements.

Education / Certification

• Excellent tertiary qualification (ideally Master), preferably in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or other relevant analytical discipline or qualified by experience in related discipline.
• First progress to recognized professional qualification (e.g. CFA, Actuarial degree, or Risk Management) of advantage.

Technical Skills

• Sound financial literacy with focus on balance sheet, P&L, ALM and investment risk management.
• Quantitative financial and risk modeling.
• Strong analytical, numerical and adaptive problem-solving skills, using a structured and methodological approach.
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerBI) skills to effectively analyze data. Finance system (e.g. SAP, ECCS, Planning Tool) skills considered a plus.

General Skills

• Fluent in English and, ideally, in German.
• Open and flexible work approach "can-do" attitude, personal initiative and drive, results-orientation.
• Effectively work in projects and teams (defining targets and milestone, managing resources, navigating complex stakeholder structures and requirements, project monitoring and reporting, moderation techniques).
• Understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively in respect to the audience / level of management (both verbal and in writing).
• A willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance your role, and the broader organization is expected.
