Our client invests in innovations that help regenerate ocean biodiversity, aiming to deliver both systemic impact and competitive market returns. The fund focuses on solutions addressing overfishing, ocean pollution, and marine-based responses to climate change.
The first fund closed at EUR 170 million and primarily targets Series A investments, mainly in Europe. A second fund is now being raised with a target size of EUR 300 million.
The company looks for an investment director based in Germany to cover the German market.
Main Responsibilities:
Conduct market intelligence and research
Originate investment opportunities
Analyze investment opportunities, including market, financial and impact analysis
Execute deals, manage due diligence, negotiations, and oversee the internal investment process
Monitor portfolio companies for value creation, including through board participation
Create and execute exit opportunities, including negotiation of terms and conditions
Actively contribute to the team’s impact within the Ocean Innovation Ecosystem
Support fundraising activities
Profile Required:
Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in private equity, venture capital (independent or corporate), or growth equity, covering sourcing, execution, monitoring, and exits
Board-level experience
Master’s degree preferred (Business, Science, or Engineering fields valued)
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Entrepreneurial mindset

International and multicultural background
Willingness to travel internationally
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
German native and fluent in English
