INTERNSHIP/THESIS: INNOVATIVE FLASH BOOTLOADER DEVELOPMENT WITH AN INTERACTIVE WINDOWS GUI

YOUR TASKS

1. FBL Extensions: Integrate new functionalities and optimize the existing architecture for robust embedded systems.
2. GUI Enhancements: Implement CAN-FD support and integrate SLCAN drivers for enhanced connectivity. Add support for 1Gbps Ethernet flashing for ultra-fast programming.
3. Embedded Architecture Improvements: Merge TC3/TC4 platform projects into a unified framework. Introduce a single configuration file for simplified platform selection. Port the application to the Hella-Build-Process for streamlined workflows.
4. Protocols & Architecture Analysis: Review and document existing implementations of ISO/TP and UDS protocols. Analyze and document MCU software and GUI architectures, including Flash Bootloader-GUI interaction. Identify gaps in protocol coverage and recommend solutions.
5. Testing and Debugging: Conduct tests to identify and fix bugs in embedded and GUI components.
6. Finalization and Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation to ensure the maintainability and scalability of the system.

DURATION: At least 12 weeks

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• During your HELLA time, you are enrolled at a university and have not yet completed your last examination.
• Fields of study: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar.
• Experience: Programming in C and C++. Basic knowledge of Ethernet protocols. Basic knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers. Experience with Qt6 development is an advantage.
• Language requirements: English (C1) or German (B2).
• Soft skills: Self-motivation, independence, creativity, analytical thinking, and time management.
