The “Advanced Carbon Conversion Technologies” department conducts research into innovative technologies for recycling waste for which no recycling technologies are yet available. In some cases, waste contains significant quantities of engineering plastics such as polyamide, critical metals such as indium or precious metals such as palladium. However, as their exact composition and therefore their recycling potential is usually unknown, these valuable materials are often not recovered.
