We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales professional for the pet food industry to join our commercial team, reporting directly to the Head of Pet Food. This is a full-time role with a hybrid work model - combining time in the office and working remotely.

In this key position, you will manage both new business development and customer relationships to maximize overall performance. As our team continues to grow, you’ll be responsible for expanding into new markets while fostering strong customer connections.

Here are some key tasks you will manage on daily basis:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new markets in the pet food sector (new regions in Europe and/or new applications for existing products)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships to enhance the customer experience.
  • Manage and expand the Grainli ingredients portfolio for pet food (Plant-based and functional ingredients, but also animal by-products are optional).
  • Achieve expert status for key per-nutrition ingredients within the company.
  • Work closely with various internal business partners to execute strategies.
  • Represent Grainli at trade fairs and key customer events like Interzoo, Zoomark and others.
  • Create and maintain a system for up-to-date market data in your area.
  • Drive the commercial strategy & performance of the pet nutrition department.
  • Incorporate the Grainli values into your work.
  • Leverage social media channels to communicate effectively with customers and business partners (currently LinkedIn).
  • Willingness to travel to meet our suppliers, customers and become an industry expert.

Your Profile

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant commercial role in trading or international sales (Key Account Management), with pet food experience as big plus.
  • Willingness to become an industry expert in the pet nutrition market, able to advise our customers
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong sales skills and a “making the deal” mentality.
  • Strong sales argumentation and focus on resolving customer needs
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture.
  • Team player and a transparent communicator.
  • Knowledge of international business practices and intercultural competence across regions especially in your active market (Europe, Asia, Africa, America).
  • Proactive in managing responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that drives you to take initiative.
