Based in Berlin, you are part of a team that bridges between the regional executive team and the various management teams across 15+ countries under the UM CE umbrella. Financial responsibilities of the team include analysing and evaluating OpCo performance, while Strategic responsibilities aim at business growth and development. You report to the Director Strategic Finance & Strategy at UM CE and work closely with the management team of UM CE.
In this role, you work with a highly dynamic team (ex-IB, ex-Consulting, ex-Publishing) in a very international setup with high exposure to management, putting you in the intersection of the creative and business sides of the music industry.
You want to become part of our team? We are looking for an Intern Strategic Finance & Strategy (all genders) for UM CE with a flexible start in 2025. This is a full-time position for 3-6 months, with potential to extend the engagement as a working student after the internship period.

Your tasks:
- Prepare reports of OpCo financials for management reporting, ensuring integrity of the financial statements
- Design process improvements & standardization of analyses across the region, collaborating on centrally developed initiatives
- Support forecasting and planning processes (incl. financial roll-up, presentation materials for executive discussions)
- Help prepare key artist deal proposals and materials for management discussions
- Support with buy-side catalogue and M&A deals (incl. due diligences, strategic- & financial evaluation)
- Perform competitive & market analyses aimed at understanding the evolution and growth areas of the (music) entertainment & tech industries
- Support strategic business initiatives across CE markets (e.g., D2C business)
- Identify and evaluate strategic growth opportunities (investments / acquisitions, strategic partnerships)
Your professional profile:
- You are finishing your bachelor’s degree or are working on your master’s degree, preferably in business, economics, law or other related fields; a focus on finance is a plus
- You have already gathered experience from other internships (min. 2) and ideally from a role in strategic finance or corporate strategy (e.g., Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Venture Capital, or Corporate Development)
- You are proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint and have superior analytical, problem solving, and financial modelling skills
- You have attention to detail and are very strong in presenting your findings in a highly structured manner, even when working in a fast-paced environment handling multiple assignments
- You have financial accounting knowledge and can assess the operational performance of a business based on its financial statements
- You are fluent in English and at least proficient in German
- You are communicative, a strong team player, and able to build relationships quickly across all organizational levels
- You feel comfortable with an international, diverse and creative environment, are self-motivated and want to take on significant responsibilities with a high level of intellectual curiosity
