Who we are looking for

Purpose

The Finance R&D Planning & Control Team occupies a vital position at Chiesi Farmaceutici SpA, tasked with monitoring the short-term R&D projects’ pipeline. The R&D pipeline is subject to the common uncertainties of the pharmaceutical industry, during the entire drug development phases and for this reason is crucial to adopt a robust approach for delivering budgeting, rolling forecasts, and reporting activities.
The Team provides Global R&D and Chiesi top management with valuable information on R&D expenditures and headcount requests to support the budgeting and decision-making processes, aiming at maximizing the business value delivery of Chiesi pipeline.

Main Activities

R&D Controlling Model & Reporting
- Support Finance R&D Planning & Control Team during periodic delivery of R&D expenditures and headcount reports, enabling clear understanding of the reasons for variances.
- Analyze and deep-dive R&D data to provide business information on Chiesi R&D projects pipeline leveraging analytical skills to identify new insights on R&D pipeline, encompassing but not limiting to the identification of potential trends and patterns in R&D costs within a pharma R&D context deeply affected by high volatility rates.
- Contribute to business administration of R&D Project and Portfolio Management system, while ensuring appropriate alignment with the company ERP system.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in reporting optimization projects, enabling the management of R&D complexity in a flexible and lean way to provide reliable short-term projections leveraging also visual analytics tools.
- Act as a point of reference within R&D Controlling for support on data analysis potentially partnering within cross-unit teams for common innovation projects.

Education

Business Administration / Economics / Finance Degree or equivalent.

Languages

Fluent English (both written and spoken). Experience abroad is a plus.

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of controlling, business administration, capital budgeting, economics.
- Use of Microsoft Office applications (advanced use of Excel and PowerPoint is a plus).
