Summary: Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG) is seeking a qualified Human Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) located in Bydgoszcz, Poland to conduct pre-deployment training activities for current theatres of operations and other exercises and training events (TEs) as assigned by NATO’s Allied Command Transformation (ACT). The Human Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides expertise to develop, manage, and execute the critical role of Human Security within NATO exercises and wargaming to portray the civil environment including humanitarian and civilian dilemmas facing the NATO Alliance.
The JFTC Grey Cell in cooperation with SHAPE J9 coordinates inclusion of non-military actors such as humanitarian organizations and government agencies into NATO exercises and wargaming to realistically represent the physical and cognitive dimensions (as outlined in the NATO approved Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) Concept) that will challenge NATO forces. Outside of exercises and wargames, the Human Security SME will be the primary representative for all Human Security and Gender related requirements for the JFTC Commander.
Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitating the continued development of all aspects of Grey Cell training delivery in accordance with the training requirements and the Commander’s intent.
- Facilitating the integration of Grey Cell (Human Security / Gender Perspective) concept development and experiments into training and wargaming in cooperation with the Training Execution Enablement Division.
- Developing, planning, preparing, and executing Grey Cell activities in support of MDO wargaming and operational HQ’s training.
- Coordinating with relevant NATO, national entities and agencies, and non-military actors to ensure efficient and effective training and wargaming.
- Cross-staff coordination and support on all aspects related to Human Security to include gender perspective in exercises, wargaming, and training including support to training needs analysis.
- Representing JFTC Grey Cell related equities during all relevant seminars, conferences, and events, as required.
- Including all Human Security equities (including gender perspective in military operations) in emerging NATO Multi-Domain Operations products, wargames, and exercises being developed, conducted, or supported by JFTC.
- Serving as the Human Security Focal Point for JFTC by maintaining awareness on current NATO Human Security developments and political challenges for inclusion into the civil picture of exercises and wargaming.
- Supporting the JFTC Gender Focal Point and coordinating with the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations for involvement in all exercises, wargames, and training.
